WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE?

Manual lymphatic drainage massage has innumerable benefits, among which are:

1) REDUCE SWELLING

Manual lymphatic drainage massage releases Water Retention, by collecting excess fluids from your tissues, which then is eliminated in the urine.  It’s very effective if you suffer from swelling in your feet, ankles and hands, stiff joints, and weight gain.

It help to speed up recovery after surgery flushing byproducts of anesthesia out of the body, while reinstating movement at swollen joints post-surgically.

2) PROMOTE HEALING

Manual lymphatic drainage massage decongests swollen and sore tissues, so it is great for pain relief, digestive problems, hormonal imbalances.

It promotes the healing of fractures, torn ligaments, sprains, wounds and burns

3) BOOST THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Manual lymphatic drainage massage enhances circulation and immunity, so it improves congested conditions (rosacea, sinusitis), reduces symptoms for inflammatory autoimmune conditions (Crohn’s, rheumatoid arthritis), helps to manage season allergies.

4) SMOOTHEN YOUR SKIN

Manual lymphatic drainage massage can improve the appearance and texture of cellulite, new and old scars, helps with skin conditions (such as acne and rosacea), and contributes to a clearer complexion, reduced puffiness around the eyes, and lessened appearance of fine line and wrinkles on the forehead

5) AID WEIGHT LOSS

CAN MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE HELP ME TO LOSE WEIGHT?

Lymphatic massage benefits weight loss, but perhaps not in the direct way you expect. Massage is well known to help with detoxification, and detoxing the body can very well produce weight loss.

With the thousands of toxins that we eat, breathe and absorb, our lymphatic system becomes sluggish which causes our metabolism to be sluggish, leading to weight gain. Manual lymphatic drainage helps to increase metabolic rate and supports the Liver and Kidney, which are necessary for weight loss because these two organs are responsible for removing toxins.

By releasing built up toxins, the body recharges, and it directs energy and blood flow to fat cells.

Manual lymphatic drainage won’t result in automatically weight loss, but it can effectively support and enhance a healthy weight loss program.

If you’re focusing on a healthy lifestyle and want to create an optimum internal system, then lymphatic drainage massage is a great way to support

Besides it helps lessen the lethargic approach of a person brought on by too much starchy, high fat foods and too little workout. With greater vitatlity you are more likely to go for that run and have a more positive attitude, and finally manage to stick to your weight loss strategy!

6) RELAX DEEPLY

Manual lymphatic drainage massage uses gentle and soothing strokes which create a blissful relaxing feeling. Massage has been proven to reduce cortisol levels – the body’s stress-response hormone – in the body by up to 31%, on average, therefore it is a great natural remedy for stress reduction.

7) HELP PREGNANT AND LACTATING MUMS WITH SWELLING

Manual lymphatic drainage massage is very effective treatment to reduce swollen legs and ankles

during/after  pregnancy.

POSTPARTUM edema (or swelling) happens because the body has naturally been retaining fluid to help the body prepare for childbirth, which it then eliminates after the baby is born. Almost all women experience at least mild swelling after they give birth and their body re-adjusts its fluid levels.

Postnatal massage can reduce swelling after delivery as MLD speeds up the removal of excess fluid.

WHAT IS A MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE?

Lymphatic drainage massage has incredible detoxification and esthetic benefits so it’s a great addition to any skincare and wellness program. It focuses on detox and purification to revitalize your energy, leaving you feeling ready to face anything. It helps to to cleanse your body’s tissues during the change of seasons, after an illness or injury, or following a particularly stressful time in your life.

Regular movement and exercise move lymph (the fluid responsible for fighting infection in the body) through your system, but occasionally it needs some helps.

We use Manual lymphatic drainage massage to redirect lymph from congested tissues where it is not effectively draining, to areas of the body where it can be filtered and flushed out. This process speeds up the elimination of toxins, while bolstering the immune system and your body’s ability to fight infection.

HOW IS LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE PERFORMED?

We use  specific gentle, rhythmic, ‘pump and flush’ techniques with a very light touch because lymph sits fairly shallow under the skin and we need to avoid compressing the vessels. Manual lymphatic drainage massage follows a specific sequence over the body so lymph isn’t trapped anywhere.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE?

A body filled with toxins can create a congested lymphatic system, which may cause any of the following symptoms:

  • Swelling or edema; Bloating

  • Sluggishness and fatigue

  • Weight gain or difficult to lose weight

  • Cellulite

  • Joint Pain; Soreness and stiffness in the morning

  • Auto Immune Diseases; Worsened allergies.

  • Sinus infections

  • Headache; Brain fog
